Steps In Time is a dance studio that was looking to expand its business by extending its advertising medium. It used Starstreak for website consultation including web design and web marketing techniques. We created a prototype website completely in flash with an xml back-end and added our site editor for them. After several meetings with the owner we helped their company get a good view of what web design would work for them and how to successfully gain viewers in the online media stream. We also made this site within the confines of one screen, so that the viewer never would have to scroll to view it.
This site was created purely in Flash. The content is all contained in a seperate XML file that fills into the site template dynamically and is updated through our PHP site designer. This site was created before we made dynamic navigation possible, so the constraints on this system were a little higher, however we had a dynamic playlist for the site to play different styles of music such as the tango, waltz, and swing to give viewers a chance to hear the music they would be dancing to and choose from the eight possibilities which type of dance they would like to focus on. Above is the entire front page of the site. All the information was contained in this space which made it very easy for the user to view it. Also you can see the sound control at the bottom with eight different styles of dance music and volume controls. The color scheme was designed based off the current color scheme for publications by the studio and the font styles were also those that the studio had used previously. The navigation is stationary but can now be made dynamic, as is the content in this prototype.
