Trinity Episcopal in Torrington was looking to establish a significant web prescence. Starstreak offered our services as a consultation and prototype for their new site as well as registering and hosting two domain names along with e-mail addresses. The original site was crudely developed in Front Page as a placeholder for a newer better page. Trinity Episcopal chose Starstreak to design a newer website for the church. We looked to create something soft and spiritual for the web that would express the same type of attitude as the church itself portrays.
We
didn't want to create a site in Flash for this because HTML
provided the less 'high-power' feel that the church needed.
We also wanted to set up official domain boxes (i.e. - design@starstreak.com
instead of julie83@hotmail.com) to give a professional look
to the website. While we asked their support for writing content,
this work was done pro-bono. We created a simple and elegant
site that was managable by the church staff without accessing
any code. They were able to add and delete their own pages
as well as add sub-pages and unlinked pages all through the
site editor. It automatically matched the page up with the
appropriate XML content and transmitted the templated site.

The above site illustrates
the color scheme we used for the site, using cool colors to
convey a relaxed atmosphere on the site. The site was to be
used as a tool to convey the church's messages, not as an
advertising billboard. There was a lot of information that
was going to be put on the site mostly for members of the
church to access and allow them to get a schedule of events,
read the newsletter, even read the sermon while they were
on the road or unable to attend in person for any reason.
This site was to be an extension of the church, a presence
of their work online.
